Branding is the art of showing the world who you are before you ever say a word.


Kaylie is a passionate, down to earth fine line tattoo artist with locations in Chehalis and Tacoma, Washington, with pop up locations in surrounding areas. She has such a calm, intentional presence, which made the entire shoot feel effortless. Hair and makeup by Azalee and Rachel with K and Hart set the tone right away. They brought out Kaylie’s natural style in a way that photographed beautifully, polished, soft, and perfect for the clean aesthetic she wanted for her brand.


I chose to have Kaylie's session at The Loft in Tacoma, Washington, because it gives us the perfect mix of light, texture, and space to create a full collection of images with zero distractions. I focused heavily on detail shots and close-ups of her tools, her hands, her process, and the finer elements that make her work so recognizable. She tattooed live so her clients can fully see her process. These images are perfect for her Instagram feed, stories, and anything she wants to layer text over for announcements or content.  Each shot was created with negative space in mind, making it easy for her to plug in graphics, captions, or promos without feeling cluttered. Prior to her session we collaborated on a Pinterest board. After seeing her vision for her brand, I created a mood board we can work off of. Before her session, we hopped on a call - I wanted to know how she wanted these images to feel, what her must have shots were, and what props would best highlight her brand she worked so hard on! One thing was her chair her clients sit in, that is such a statement piece that really highlights the overall experience she gives her clients.


Kaylie now has a full library of cohesive photos that reflect exactly who she is as an artist. They are intentional, detailed, and expressive just like her art. This session was all about giving her visuals that support her art and help her show up confidently online, and I’m so excited to see how she uses them. Now let's all go get cutie tattoos!!!!
